Insurance for dogs with diabetes?
My mom’s dog was just diagnosed with Diabetes about a month ago. I was wondering if anybody knows of a pet insurance company that covers a diabetic dog and discounts on their prescription medication.

I’m not sure, but I suspect that any pet insurance company would ask about pre-existing conditions and would not cover them or complications associated with them. Even if they do, they will likely charge more for the insurance, so it probably would not be worth it. That’s how it works for humans, so I’m assuming it’s the same for dogs.
Unfortunately, it might be too late to get pet insurance because of the pre-existing condition. You might be able to get insurance anyway, but nothing that would cover the diabetes. It might be worth it if the dog might get other health conditions later on in life, at least then, you’d be covered.
i think they would only cover it if you were diagnosed before taking out a policy.i was told you can get a vet to write a script out if its a human medicine thats used on dogs and go to the chemist to get it at human script price.what insulin is the dog on(my daughter is diabetic too i was wondering if its a human one the dog is on)does it have urine strips etc like my kid?
