how to help some1 deal w/the loss of a pet?

my aunt (who lives in italy) told me 2day that her 12 yr. old cat died from kidney failure. she jus lost her 14 yr old cat last yr. in oct. ( diabetes)i feel so bad because she truly cares about her cats. she has taken in every stray she has ever come across. now she has 7 cats and she spends the whole day taking care of them
