Urinary tract infection without pain?

I think i might have a urinary tract infection, i was on antibiotics (doxycycline) for about a month due to cystic acne. It worked great but after I finished it, I began having random urges to urinate every hour or more. the amount/urgency produced never really matches how much i drink, in that it’s a very tiny amount excreted. but the weird thing is that there’s NO pain whatsoever, no pressure of any kind, it’s just this odd urge to urinate.

What’s weirder is that this has been going on for a good 2 months now, at first I thought it was just because I was getting the medication out of my system after such prolonged use…and eventually it DID stop, but ever since then, I get this urge for a few days to urinate every hour or more…and then it just, STOPS, and for a good week i’ll maybe use the restroom 3-4 times a day, and then it starts up again.

I went to a cheapo clinic and the doctor was trying to make me believe I had diabetes, and wanted to perform some $300 test to find out. Which i declined, and set up an appointment with my family doctor on tuesday.
Has anybody ever experienced a UTI with NO pain whatsoever with JUST urgency, that kinda comes and goes randomly? (I’ve also noticed my urine being a bit cloudy in the last day)

I started getting all paranoid thinking i have diabetes just because a stupid doctor THOUGHT i had it (when he was more concerned about the fact if i had freakin’ insurance or not), with just frequent urination as the symptom. But it still doesn’t add up.
