No sir. if your diabetes is controlled, you should not have problems in causing or being prone to cause yeast infection in your partner. Having said that, if your urine is loaded with sugar (glucose), then it will pose a risk (like in any other person) to promote the growth of the normal yeast flora of the genital area. Bottom line: Control your diabetes and live a normal life in all aspects and dimensions. Congrats on your new relationship.

Yes all of these things can cause yeast infections but most especially diabetes. If your sugar gets to high for a period of time you always get a yeast infection. Diflucan works wonderful for the infection but it needs to be prescribed by a doctor.

if your blood sugars are running high you can definately start to have repeated hard to get rid of yeast infections, and good for you still gettin to the get down at 64

Uncontrolled diabetes itself can cause yeast infections, just as sex alone can. If you are prone to them, see your doctor.

Specifically, exposure to the yeast in the air can cause yeast infections if there is a compromised condition in the immune system of the skin. A lightly infected cut can do it, an abrasion on desensitized skin from diabetes, which also lowers immunity to infections generally, and bruised tissue from similar to the abrasion situation, all can harbor yeast/fungus/spore infections. A quick and deep penetrating treatment for any affected such areas is Miconazole Nitrate, sold for many purposes OTC in pharmacies. The 2% strong formulation intended for Vaginal use may be the best bet if the general strength 1% formula proves ineffective in specific infection locations. The best course of action is to monitor blood sugar closely to learn what excess sugar feels like in your system, and avoid all disacharide (cane) sugar and bleached (enriched) flour altogether.
